ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Bernalillo County's new speed camera program will begin issuing citations on Wednesday. The county has installed six cameras on five thoroughfares in an effort to get drivers to slow down. Albuquerque E-bike law now in effect They went operational on August 26 but speeders were sent initially sent written warnings. Now, drivers caught speeding could get a $100 citation or a $25 fine with four hours of community service. The county also wants to install cameras along Coors Blvd., Dennis Chavez Blvd., Alameda Blvd., and Tramway Blvd., but the New Mexico Department of Transportation needs to give final approval first.
