Despite the breaks of blue during the evening, it was another mostly gray day out there, and more to come over the next two. Overcast skies will return on Wednesday, with highs again in the mid to upper 60s. With E/NE winds continuing, there will also be some elevated surf continuing. A cold front moving in late at night into Thursday will passing showers, so make sure to have your umbrella handy all day. High pressure returns Friday into the weekend, bringing back the sun and warmer temperatures as well. Highs will be in the low 70s into next week. This high couldn’t have come at a better time. Soon-to-be Hurricane Helene is likely to make landfall in Florida on Thursday evening. The big incoming high will cause the storm to turn weaken and veer west once it moves inland, sparing the New England from any rain but also sending some high clouds in our direction.
