Over 4,000 fentanyl test strips given by Emily's Hope

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Fentanyl test strips are available at more than a dozen businesses and organizations around southeastern South Dakota courtesy of Emily's Hope.
The organization, dedicated to removing the stigma surrounding substance use disorder, recently distributed 4,010 test strips to 20 locations in the state.

These strips are used to detect the presence of fentanyl when it is mixed with other drugs.
Note: While all these locations receive strips, not all of the locations are open to the public.

Emily's Hope has not only provided these testing strips, but also lobbied in 2023 to legalize their use.
Organizations or businesses interested in receiving test strips from Emily's Hope can pick them up or have them dropped off locally. They cannot be legally mailed.
