(CNN)– Petco is recommitting to an adoption only policy for rabbits. This change comes after rabbit.org accused the company of betraying its previous promises to stop all rabbit sales. Petco recently completed a limited pilot program that sold less than 50 rabbits in select locations. All remaining miniature rabbits as part of the program will now be offered for adoption. Animal welfare groups criticize the sales of rabbits because it leads to regretful owners who do not understand the cost and time it takes to care for these animals. Categories: News Tags: Petco
