MINOT, ND (KXNET) -- We're finding out more about what happened just before police in Minot arrested a man who they say violently attacked a family. Troy Sanders appeared in Ward County court on Tuesday morning. He's charged with two counts of attempted murder as well as child abuse for a victim under the age of six. The incident happened on Saturday at an apartment on the southwest side of Minot. KX News obtained new court documents which describe what victims and witnesses say happened. The verdict is in: Kamauri Kennedy found guilty Those documents detail how a woman told police she'd been in an argument with Sanders when she says he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and started beating her. They go on to say that Sanders grabbed one child and put the child in a chokehold. Witnesses say the kids called for help. Another person stepped in and kicked Sanders in the head, knocking him unconscious. In addition to the other charges he's already facing, Sanders is also facing a separate felony charge for assault on a peace officer for allegedly punching a correctional officer at the jail.
