DICKINSON, ND (KXNET) -- For now, the acting president at Dickinson State University will stay right where he is.
That was the decision at Tuesday morning's state Board of Higher Education meeting in Grand Forks.
Higher Ed leaders went into executive session to discuss four people who are considered to serve as interim president at Dickinson State University.
But they opted to keep Ty Orton, who's the executive director of the DSU Heritage Foundation, in his current role as acting president.

University System Chancellor Mark Hagerott will now form a search committee along with a consultant to look for a new permanent president at the school.
"I think it's good to do that, but I'd also like to state that AGB who has been heavily involved is responsible for most of the president's sitting at these tables, so, I think probably there's a preference towards him, I think it's reasonable to look at it, the cost of a search will go to DSU," Board Member Casey Ryan said.
Danita Bye, who serves on the Higher Ed Board, will serve on the search committee.
On Tuesday, the board also approved a request by DSU to increase a bond amount from $5 to $10 million to renovate Woods Hall, which is student housing, as well as adding 68 beds.
