BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern Literacy Council has donated a book vending machine to the Kern County Department of Human Services' Children’s Visitation Center, aiming to foster a love for reading and strengthen family bonds. The vending machine will be regularly stocked with free books for children visiting center, providing them with opportunities to explore new stories and develop their reading skills. ‘Alarming’: Severe obesity is climbing in the US.
