BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The City of Tehachapi is set to host a Star Gazing Party at Aviator Park on October 12.
At the event, Kern County amateur astronomers will be offering close-up views of the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Antares and other constellations.

City officials say the event is free and you can bring a picnic dinner, binoculars or telescope.
The event is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The telescope viewing is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m.

Aviator Park is located inside the Tehachapi Municipal Airport at 314 North Hayes Street.
