Join the Mower County Historical Society for its Annual Fall Harvest Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday Activities for the day will include horse drawn wagon rides, the Madgaarden apple cider press, decorated pumpkins, rope making, rag doll crafting and much more. There will be a bake sale featuring homemade breads, pies, bars, cookies, jams, and other goodies made by local bakers. The 1004 Steam Engine, Fire Museum, and Log Cabin will be open for families to explore the many exhibits at the Historical Society. Wendy Larson and Lee Bjorndal will also be providing musical entertainment during the day. “Fall Harvest has really become a tradition in Austin,” according to Randal J. Forster, MCHS Executive Director. “People look forward to this annual event year after year. It’s a great way to kick-off the fall season with a little bit of fun for the whole family!” Homemade sloppy Joe sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans and much more will be available for purchase at the food stand. Hillier’s Pumpkin Wagon will also be onsite for the day, featuring pumpkins and gourds of every shape and size for purchase. This is a free event open to everyone. Donations are always appreciated.
