The LeRoy Commercial Club has announced the schedule for LeRoy’s first-ever Fall Fest, a day with food, events and activities for all ages. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at North (Baumbach) Park in collaboration with LeRoy-Ostrander Community Education. Fall Fest will include a farmer’s and vendor’s market, games, baking contest, a “Pie in the Face” event, color run/walk, golf cart and ATV parade, a trunk-or-treat event and food offerings. In addition, anyone shopping at A Gift to Gab, Ed’s Floral & Gifts, Emporium 56, Sweet’s Hotel, Travel Lanes or the Fall Bazaar at First Presbyterian Church the day of Fall Fest, can get a special card punched to enter it in a drawing for $50 in LeRoy Bucks at Fall Fest. “We’re always looking for new ideas to make our community an attractive place to live and visit and support our businesses at the same time,” said Brent Dohlman, who is the club’s president. “Fall Fest will combine all those goals.” “Join us at Fall Fest to celebrate our wonderful community and support local businesses,” Dohlman said, The LeRoy Commercial Club consists of LeRoy businesses, groups and individuals who pursue the shared mission of making LeRoy a vibrant community and an attractive place to shop, play and live. The club meets monthly. New members are always welcome. EVENT LINEUP View the full Fall Fest schedule below • Farmer’s & Vendor’s Market, 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Contact Dohlman (507-951-3138) to reserve a spot for $10, which includes a table, if needed. • Baking Contest, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants should bring their entries to North Park between 9-10 a.m. The Commercial Club will create sample sizes and offer them to Fall Fest visitors, who can vote for their favorite entry. The winner will be announced at 4 p.m. First, second and third place winners will receive $15, $10 and $5 in LeRoy Bucks respectively. • Pie In The Face, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Buy a “pie” for $3 and aim it at the face of LeRoy leaders, who have been nominated to sit in the hot seat for this event. Direct hits are available for $10. Contact Dohlman to nominate a “victim.” • Brat and Hot Dog Meals, 11 a.m. until gone. The Commercial Club will serve brat and hot dog meals, including chips and water for a free-will donation. Meals will be served until gone. • Games for kids and adults, 11.am. to 6 p.m. All games are free, with exception of the purchase of a pumpkin, and include: Pumpkin Painting Pumpkin Bowling Fishing for Apples Money Corn Pit Haybale Maze Pumpkin Balancing Contest Potato Sack Races Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe Duck Races Hay/Straw Bale Toss Prize Drawings, 4 p.m. The Commercial Club will announce the winners of the Baking Contest and Punch Card Drawing. • Color Run/Walk, 3-4 p.m. Registration for the Color Run is available online through Community Education. The fee is $5 for kids up to 10 years and $10 for age 11 and up. T-shirts are available at Ed’s Floral & Gifts for $7 and must be ordered by 3 p.m. on Sept. 25. Same-day registration is also available. The Color/Run Walk will feature a short course around North Park and the adjoining neighborhood. • The Grove Eats Food Truck, 5-8 p.m. Enjoy smashburger and French fry varieties for sale. • Golf cart and ATV parade, 5 p.m. Decorate your golf cart or ATV for fall or Halloween, and join in on a parade around town. Call Dohlman to register. • Trunk-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. L-O Community Education is inviting businesses, groups and families to host trunks. Decorate your vehicle and hand out treats or trinkets. This event also includes music by DJ Ben Reburn and a fun photo booth. Contact Community Education director Kate Rohrer to register a trunk.
