MBT Bank hires Tom Klapperich as Austin Market president

MBT Bank (MBT) has announced the hire of Tom Klapperich as Market president in their Austin location. In this position, Klapperich will assume responsibility for leading branch operations in loan development and deposit growth in Austin.
Klapperich brings over 25 years of banking experience to MBT, most recently serving as senior vice president/regional president for a community bank in Austin. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Mankato State University.
“I look forward to bringing new ideas and help in the continued branding of MBT,” Klapperich said.
As an active member of the community, Klapperich currently serves for the following organizations: Noon Lions Club, Treasurer for the Austin Public Education Foundation, Hirsch Family Foundation, Honorary Chamber Ambassador, DCA loan committee member, Charter Commission commissioner, and Austin Chamber business education committee member.
“We are very excited to have Tom join our team, he has proven leadership experience and is a well known member of the Austin community,” said Steve Chappell, MBT Senior vice president of Lending.
He currently resides in Austin with his wife Penny, with whom he shares eight children and eight grandchildren.
