MOUNT RAINIER, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police are investigating a triple shooting that left a man dead and two people hurt in front of a Mount Rainier liquor store on Monday night. Customers who live in the area said they're fed up with the violence. “This is the first time I've ever heard of anything happening like this…. I'm a little bit uncomfortable," said Stephon Jackson.  A trip to Chuck’s liquor store on Rhode Island Avenue doesn’t feel as safe as it used to be for Jackson after Monday night's shooting. The growing senseless act of gun violence happening across the DMV has many fed up.  "It looks like things are kind of getting worse," said Jackson.  Youth football team, Montgomery Village community reacts to shooting at game Just before 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, Mount Rainier police said two men and a woman were sitting inside a burgundy SUV in front of the store. That's when an unknown person approached the driver, an altercation happened and that person started shooting.  One of the men died at the scene, the other two victims have life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene. "These isolated has as we’ve seen with the prevalence of gun violence in our region and it’s so popular in today’s society. So this is very sad as it reaches our community,” said Police Chief Linwood Alston.  Jackson said people have to change for the senseless gun violence to stop. DC Circulator employees rally to save their jobs “The police frequently [patrol] this area pretty much. It's really the people that have to change, you know, it's really nothing we can do about it," shared Jackson.  The deadly shooting is being investigated by Prince George's County and Mount Rainier police.  As of Tuesday morning, no suspects were in custody and the motive was still under investigation.
