SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Bay FC, the Bay Area's first team in the National Women's Soccer League, will apparently soon be living up to its name. On Tuesday, the club announced it would be opening a new training facility on Treasure Island, in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. The new training facility is coming in 2027, according to a post on the club's Instagram account. Boy abducted from Oakland at age 6 found alive more than 70 years later "Our world-class permanent training facility will be located on Treasure Island, and will feature three training fields, dedicated sporting operations facilities, and top-of-the-line resources and spaces for players needed to perform at the highest level," the clubs said. Bay FC currently sits in 9th place in the NWSL standings, having fallen 0-1 at home to the visiting Orlando Pride last week. The club will head north on Sunday to face Seattle Reign FC.
