SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Salina Police Department received a special gift Tuesday. A first-grade class from Sunset Elementary and their teacher sent a care package to the department. The package included a card, colored pictures, and snacks for the department. Why you will see more Kansas police officers at railroad crossings Teacher Elisha Hampton and her students sent the package offering their condolences over the loss of K-9 Officer Tyrann. "Ty" died Sept. 18 after a fall while on duty. He had been with the department since 2021. Services for Tyrann are still pending.
