Class sends care package to Salina PD following K9 death

SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Salina Police Department received a special gift Tuesday.
A first-grade class from Sunset Elementary and their teacher sent a care package to the department. The package included a card, colored pictures, and snacks for the department.

Teacher Elisha Hampton and her students sent the package offering their condolences over the loss of K-9 Officer Tyrann. "Ty" died Sept. 18 after a fall while on duty.
He had been with the department since 2021. Services for Tyrann are still pending.
