The ultra-successful Robbinsville High School program just keeps on producing Division I players. The latest Ravens who have committed to play in college are seniors Ariana Tomlinson and Tuleen Ali. Tomlinson is an outfielder who is headed to Seton Hall University. Ali is a catcher who will continue her softball career at Drexel University in Philadelphia. An excellent center fielder with great range and speed, Tomlinson hit .481 last spring with 37 hits and a team-high 30 RBIs while batting No. 3 in the order. After batting in a limited roll as a freshman, Tomlinson burst on the scene with a .485 average as a sophomore. She has 26 stolen bases in the last two years and has had some huge clutch hits. This includes a game-winning single against Hun last season in the semifinals of the Mercer County Tournament. She was also 3-for-3 in the MCT championship game in 2023,. Her fielding prowess was on full display last season when she made a game-saving catch by leaping high against the center field fence to haul in a possible home run in Robbinsville’s 1-0 victory over Notre Dame. It was one of only two losses for Notre Dame the entire year while Robbinsville enjoyed another tremendous season. With Tomlinson and Ali playing key rolls, the Ravens went 21-4. For her efforts, Tomlinson was named to The Trentonian’s All-Colonial Valley Conference and All-Area teams last season. The local area has had a long connection with Seton Hall softball. Among the all-time Mercer greats who played for the Pirates were Robbinsville pitcher Lauren Fisher and Nottingham outfielder Val Suto. Players on this year’s Seton Hall roster include freshman Angelina Benitez from Hightstown, sophomore Katey Brennan from Conwell-Egan and graduate student Hannah Alexander from Northern Burlington. Ali arrived at Robbinsville two years ago as a transfer and once she became eligible she quickly established herself as one of the top defensive catchers in the area. She has a strong arm and quick release, making it very hard to run on the Ravens. Ali also came on strong with the bat last season. She hit over .300 and had a team-high three homers. One of those homers was a game-winning grand slam to center field as Robbinsville beat state champion Steinert in regular-season action. Ali also received All-Area and All-CVC recognition last season in The Trentonian, and she is the third Robbinsville catcher to land a Division I scholarship. The first two catchers were Rebecca Freeman and Shea Walsh. Both later had outstanding careers at Marist University after helping lead Robbinsville to Group II state championships.
