TOPEKA (KSNT) - A construction project will see part of Southwest 29th Street shut down until mid-July 2025. Starting on Monday, Sept. 30, construction crews will begin work on a roundabout at Southwest 29th Street and Auburn Road. The roundabout will be the future access point to the USD 437 Middle School, according to a Shawnee County press release. "Construction of this roundabout comprises Phase 1 of a three-phase project to reconstruct SW Auburn Road from SW 29th Street to K-4 Highway, including constructing a roundabout at the intersection with SW 29th Street." Shawnee County spokeswoman Amanda Monhollon Appeal filed in Kansas machine gun case Southwest Auburn Road between Southwest 29th and K-4 Highway will remain open, according to the press release.
