BOSTON (WWLP) - A former Holyoke Police officer can no longer work as a law enforcement officer in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) announced that Dominique Padilla has agreed to a Voluntary Decertification Agreement with a permanent revocation of his certification. Springfield police stepping up speed enforcement Padilla worked for the Holyoke Police Department (HPD) from February 2018 through June 30, 2023, and was certified as a police officer in Massachusetts on July 1, 2021. According to the POST commission's findings, Padilla is alleged to have used HPD resources to search for information about his estranged wife, and her family and friends, through the Registry of Motor Vehicles Criminal Justice Information Systems databases. Investigators say Padilla did this without an official law enforcement purpose. It is also alleged that Padilla mishandled confidential information, and accessed crime scene photos that he took photos of using his personal cell phone. The commission decided that Padilla showed a pattern of misconduct that would justify him facing discipline. As part of the agreement, Padilla also waived his rights to contest the allegations and findings.
