PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Public Schools have confirmed that internet connection is back after the district temporarily disconnected connections out of an abundance of caution due to a security breach.
The district said they saw irregular activity on its network earlier in the month, which caused the shut down as they investigated the issue.
A representative for the district said students and staff members were given access to Chromebooks throughout the schools with other devices being reconnected in the coming week, starting on Monday.
“While there is more work to do, we are well on our way back to normal operations,” they said in a statement.
“As previously shared, an analysis is underway on what occurred with our network. We will share more with you as more information is made available,” they continued.
