MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A neighborhood in the Southwest Memphis area is currently in the dark after months without street lights. During the night, you can only make out the front door lights at neighbors’ homes in the distance.  ”It’s been out for maybe about four or five months,” said Frank Davis, a resident of the community. "For the elderly that live there and try to walk, and my wife and family come in and out at night. It’s just completely dark and I don't think it should be that way because it’s there for a reason but it’s been out.” MLGW customers suffer through power failures Davis says he has tried calling the Memphis Mayor's action line and Memphis Light Gas and Water, but there are still no lights on this dead end.  “Every time I call they say it cancels out the order when I call," Davis said. "It’s been nobody for help.” He fears that without any lights on his street, crime could move in.  Water main break creates sinkhole in Parkway Village "Now that fall is coming it’s going to be dark in the morning. I just want to get it fixed. I don’t want to start any trouble. I just want the light fix,” Davis said. MLGW released a statement saying, "We are not showing a report on our end, but we have created a work order and will get started on the process of getting the lights working."
