WASHINGTON, D.C. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced on Friday the sentencing of four men involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol breach, including Stephen Chase Randolph, 34, from Harrodsburg. Randolph has been sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by thirty-six months of supervised release, and is also required to pay $2,000 in restitution. According to the release, Randolph was convicted of assaulting an officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and inflicting bodily injury. The U.S. Attorney’s Office described the group’s participation in the initial breach of the Capitol grounds, noting that their actions “paved the way for thousands of rioters to storm the Capitol grounds.” Since the January 6 events, over 1,500 individuals have been charged with crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, highlighting the extensive legal repercussions following the riot.
