CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Senator JD Vance is calling North Carolina his second home after several campaign stops in the Tar Heel state over the past few weeks. That includes two on Monday in the Queen City. Vance came out hot from the start, saying the people of North Carolina are going to fire Vice President Kamala Harris come November 5. Vance touched on the basics, but things really got heated when Mark Robinson's alleged comments were brought up. Key staffers exit Mark Robinson campaign for NC governor in wake of report about online posts "I've seen some of the statements," said Vance. "I haven't seen them all. Some of them are pretty gross, to put it mildly. Mark Robinson says those statements are false, that he didn't say them. I think it's up to Mark Robinson to make his case to the people of North Carolina." Vance didn't directly say whether or not he and the Trump campaign will still endorse the Republican candidate for governor. The question came after a CNN report linked the lieutenant governor to racist and sexual comments on a porn website. He's denied the allegations, but it was a big topic of conversation at Monday's event. Beyond that, Vance spent time bashing Harris' policies, blaming her for inflation and the border crisis. Vance said he and former President Donald Trump will bring back what he called "common sense policies" so Americans will be able to afford homes, groceries and gas. JD Vance speaks at a campaign event at Dale F. Halton Theater in Charlotte Vance also repeatedly criticized the media, saying journalism in America is a disgrace. But his main focus was on the economy. "To Kamala Harris, we have one final message on the economy, and I've got some advice for you, Kamala, on how you can answer this question about your specific plans," he said. "No more word salad about how you grew up in a middle-class family. Unleash American energy. Unleash American workers. That's how you open up this country, and that's how you lower prices for American citizens." Trump will be making another stop in the Tar Heel state on Wednesday.
