(MANCOS, Colo.) — Recently Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) released a recovered peregrine falcon at the same property where a family found the bird with an injured wing. According to CPW, in March, a family in Mancos found a peregrine falcon with an injured wing on their property. The family took the falcon to the Durango Animal Hospital, where scans revealed the falcon had some soft tissue injuries. The falcon was then taken to Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehab in Del Norte to recover. The falcon recovered throughout the spring and summer regaining its strength and flying skills, and by mid-September, it was ready to be released into the wild. After a few photos, the falcon was given a boost and it flew around the property before flying out of sight.
