BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Center of Literacy and Learning will soon host The Plain Talk About Dyslexia summit. It will bring educators, specialists and advocates from across the nation for two days of dynamic learning and collaboration at the Baton Rouge Marriott from Oct. 4-5. Dyslexia makes reading hard for people because of differences in how their brains process language. Relating sounds to letter shapes is challenging. Support, training and practice using available tools, such as specialized fonts or reading along while text is read out loud, can help. The inaugural event is designed to deepen understanding, share best practices and spark meaningful conversations about dyslexia. Baton Rouge school counselor loves kids, helps teachers and lives her dream every day It will offer a unique opportunity to connect with peers, share ideas and access the latest resources and tools in the field.
