The Tony Fisher Award is presented to The News-Herald high school football player of the year. It is named after the former Ohio Mr. Football recipient from Euclid who went on to play at Notre Dame and in the NFL. Fisher is now the athletic director at Euclid. The weekly watch list can and will change. Here is this week’s list, in alphabetical order: Danny Alfieri, Sr., Kirtland: He carried six times for 91 yards and a touchdown in the Hornets’ 48-7 win over Cuyahoga Heights. Drayton Allgood, Jr., Chardon: He ran for 62 yards and a touchdown and also threw for 29 yards in the Hilltoppers’ 41-9 loss to Bishop Watterson. Shahn Alston, Jr., Harvey: He carried six times for 208 yards and four touchdowns in the Red Raiders’ 47-13 win over Conneaut. Tymir Cardona, Sr., Kenston: He caught four passes for 52 yards in the Bombers’ 34-20 loss to Lake Catholic. Jamere Church, Sr., Benedictine: He carries 16 times for 126 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 39-7 win over Shaker Heights. Sean Dillard, Sr., Gilmour: He caught two passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Lancers’ 42-6 win over John Marshall. Jackson Farley, Jr., Mentor: He carried 23 times for 149 yards and a touchdown, and also caught four passes for 26 yards and a score, in the Cardinals’ 35-27 win over Cleveland Heights. Scotty Fox, Sr., Mentor: He completed 16 of 22 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns, and also carries six times for 35 yards and a score, in the Cardinals’ 35-27 win over Cleveland Heights. Caleb Hewitt, Sr., Chardon: He ran for 26 yards and caught a pass in the Hilltoppers’ 41-9 loss to Bishop Watterson. Justen Hodge, Jr., Mentor: He caught seven passes for 181 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 35-27 win over Cleveland Heights. Bo Jackson, Sr., VASJ: He was injured and did not play in the Vikings’ 48-6 win over Cleveland Central Catholic. Jordan Johnson, Jr., Hawken: He carried 21 times for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the Hawks’ 60-38 win over Lakeside. Lucas Kaltenbach, Sr., Kenston: He completed 7 of 19 passes for 72 yards in the Bombers’ 34-20 loss to Lake Catholic. Jake LaVerde, Jr., Kirtland: He carried eight times for 94 yards and two touchdowns, and also completed 4-of-4 passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns, in the Hornets’ 48-7 win over Cuyahoga Heights. Brody Lennon, Sr, Gilmour: He caught one pass for 18 yards in the Lancers’ 42-6 win over John Marshall. Charlie Mallett, So., Hawken: He caught eight passes for 109 yards in the Hawks’ 60-38 win over Lakeside. Kyndall McCaleb, Jr., Riverside: He carried 23 times for 190 yards and three touchdowns in the Beavers’ 37-21 win over Boardman. Donovan Moorhead, Jr., Hawken: He completed 19 of 24 passes for 282 yards and four passes in the Hawks’ 60-38 win over Lakeside.
