ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester mother is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday morning after the death of her son. Bryasia Love pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault last May after the death of her one-year-old song A'Mias Love. She was supposed to be sentenced earlier this month, but it got postponed. On January 19, 2023, Love called the police saying A'Mias was unresponsive. Officers arrived at her Joseph Avenue apartment and found the baby with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he died days later. Investigators determined this was not a medical assault, but instead was an assault. They said A'Mias had multiple skull fractures, bruises, a laceration on his head and his liver, and eye damage. They also learned his two-and-a-half-year-old sister had bruises all over her body. Love was arrested and was initially charged with murder, which she pleaded not guilty to. She eventually pleaded guilty to the manslaughter and assault charges. Love is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday at 11 a.m. and is expected to receive between 22 to 28 years in prison.
