ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - We are stuck in the cool and wet pattern today. Rain showers pick up this afternoon and push through after the evening commute as well. Scattered showers last through the overnight and into early Wednesday. The storm will strengthen Wednesday afternoon, but by this time it's east of Rochester. While there will still be rain locally, the heaviest looks to be closer to Syracuse.  Ridging in the jet stream over the Great Lakes will help clear skies Thursday. Expect morning clouds to make way for afternoon sun. We may see a slight bump in temperatures here, getting to the middle 70s. The dry air persists into Friday and the weekend, likely leading to a nice stretch to finish September.
