NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Two men are facing charges after allegedly robbing a Speedway gas station on West Main Street in Norton. According to police, on Sunday September 22, officials responded to the gas station around 9 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. The store clerk had reported that a masked, white male entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk then said that the male exited the store and fled the scene after receiving the items he demanded. Officials searched the area for the male suspect, with the assistance of a Foxboro K9 and a Massachusetts State Police K9, but were unable to locate him. After an investigation by Norton Police Detectives, it was discovered that the store clerk was involved in the incident and was placed under arrest. He was charged by Norton Police with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, accessory before the fact and accessory after the fact. The other suspect was also placed under arrest after it was discovered that he and the other suspect conspired together to commit the robbery. According to police, a search warrant was later executed on a residence where police recovered items related to the robbery. He was charged by Norton Police with armed robbery while masked (subsequent offense), and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. No one was injured during the incident, according to police.
