INDIANAPOLIS – While the I-69 and I-465 interchange opened in August, work continues on the Finish Line project. That means drivers should watch for lane restrictions or closures in the weeks to come. Exit ramp changes The Indiana Department of Transportation said the east side ramps at Harding Street and I-465 are now open after closing in mid-August for a planned 60-day reconstruction project. The west side ramps (eastbound I-465 to Harding Street and Street to westbound I-465) will close in mid-October for similar work, with the project slated to last approximately 60 days. Lane closures on I-465 Drivers will see a nightly single-lane closure on westbound I-465 between I-69/I-465 and Mann Road through Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge work. Westbound I-465 between I-65 and US 31/East Street will have double-lane closures and 20-minute stoppages from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge beam delivery on Friday, Sept. 27. Also watch for double-lane closures and 20-minute stoppages on westbound and eastbound I-465 between Mann Road and I-70 beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, through 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30. Crews will perform milling, paving and lane-shift operations. INDOT cautioned that construction traffic will enter and exit the construction site, leading to some traffic delays. I-69 work Mowing crews will be out this week on I-69 between State Road 144 and Fairview Road. INDOT asked drivers to watch for crews and give them room to work. Southbound I-69 between County Line Road and Fairview Road will have the right lane restricted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Wednesday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 27, for shoulder paving. Drivers will also see a single-lane restriction in both directions at Southport Road over I-69 through Friday, Sept. 27, for traffic signal modifications. INDOT said the work will improve signal timing. Another change to look for: the speed limit along I-69 between State Road 144 and Fairview Road is now 55 mph in Johnson County. INDOT said speed limits are still reduced along much of the I-69 Finish Line corridor and reminded drivers to follow posted speed limits and use additional caution in construction zones.
