SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Pheasant and deer hunting seasons are just around the corner and there's a new lodge for hunters to enjoy. It's near Fedora, South Dakota, but as you're about to see this one is specially designed and equipped for its guests. Clark County cornfield damaged by motorist "We named the whole property Suncatcher Acres, because we are always chasing the sun and we have beautiful sunsets out here," founder Nick Kolterman said. Suncatcher Acres is a brand new state-of-the-art hunting lodge. It is the state's largest ADA-compliant lodge for veterans and others with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors with no restrictions. "This is going to be open year-round, not only are we going to be housing people to enjoy the outdoors; it's not really a lodge strictly for hunting, but we want people with any type of disability," Kolterman said. Nick Kolterman has two other hunting lodges nearby, but this one is special, because he wants disabled veterans or anyone with a disability or going through medical treatments to be able to come here and hunt. Tristan Bender is a farmer, but also was born without his right arm. He's been helping Nick build Suncatcher Acres, because he understands the importance of it. "Yeah there's really no better cause to get behind I guess," Bender said. Bender doesn't let his disability slow him down. He says he hunts and even rides motorcycle. But he wants others with disabilities to enjoy the same kinds of things he does. That's why he wants to help Nick build this hunting lodge. "To me that speaks a lot about Nick's character; men and women who gave way more than I've ever given in my life, kind help them in some way, it just feels good out here helping Nick build this," Bender said. This weekend they are hosting a free concert with nine celebrities flying in from all over, including Nashville, to help kick off the fundraising festivities. It's open to everyone. "Just show up, we'll get you in we'll find you a spot to park and we'll have a good two to three hours of fun," Kolterman said. The fundraiser is this weekend. The concert is on Saturday night, for more information click here.
