Students Use Cellphones To Light Field For Marching Band

GASTONIA, N.C. – The night the lights went out in Gastonia! On Friday, as the Highland School of Technology’s marching band took the field to perform at halftime, the entire stadium went dark. After a few beats, the student section cheered the Marching Rams on and used their cell phone flashlights to light up the field. The band regrouped, and started from the top.
The band director tells us this is the first year in the school’s history that they have had a marching band, and she is so proud of the kids in the band and the students for cheering them on!
