(WROC) — School has been in session for several weeks now, and as we get closer to the start of respiratory virus season, the Rochester region is already starting to see a higher number of cases of COVID and whooping cough in kids. As RSV levels typically begin rising in October, with influenza to follow, doctors say making sure children are vaccinated before heading to school is key, and keep them home if they're sick.
