FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A car that was stolen at knifepoint was found after the carjacking suspect crashed it into a power pole in Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department. Officers say they were first alerted to the car theft shortly after midnight in the area of Highway 99 and Belmont Avenue. The victim told officers that the suspect had approached with a knife and demanded the keys. The suspect then drove away in the car. ‘Out of control’ man arrested with 2 knives in Hanford, police say According to police, officers in the area of Crystal and Olive avenues in Fresno saw the vehicle and attempted to chase it, but that chase was called off. Moments afterward, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a power pole at Olive and Polk avenues. The driver was taken into custody. The names of those involved in the incident have not been officially released.
