NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) -- Newton High School will receive $5,000 from T-Mobile.
It's part of the "Friday Night 5G Lights" contest, in which 300 schools compete to show their school spirit by getting the most likes on Instagram. Sixteen schools will be selected as finalists and receive $25,000, with a grand prize.
These Kansas schools are now National Blue Ribbon Schools
The grand prize includes a $100,000 grant for the high school, a new high-tech scoreboard, a 5G network upgrade, an upgraded weight room from GronkFitness.com, a free consultation with football field experts, a tailgate party with live music, and a half-time drone show.
