TRENTON — Police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old in the Capital City Sunday afternoon. Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Theresa L. Hilton said that Trenton Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 12:32 p.m. Sunday near Parkside and Homan Avenues. Officers found a teen with a gunshot wound in the back and began first aid until TEMS arrived and brought the victim to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. The victim was identified as Opium Leverette, 17, of Trenton. Leverette died at 1:09 p.m. after arriving at the hospital.
