SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Aside from scattered showers later this evening and tonight, many in KELOLAND will stay dry for the rest of the month. Along with the dry skies, don't be surprised by a couple more days of 80-degree heat in central and eastern KELOLAND. 90-degree days will return to the western part of the state. 437 Project runners reflect on journey across SD Dry conditions rule the landscape in KELOLAND. The fall season has started dry, and it may end up being record-setting for some as eastern KELOLAND has had very little rain this month. When you look at the calendar for Sioux Falls, we've only had measurable rain for two days and it's only added up to three-hundredths of an inch. If the amount of rain stays less than 17 hundredths for the next week, we'll end up with the driest September in Sioux Falls. If Huron doesn't record any more rain this month it will go down as the 4th driest. And the quarter inch of rain in Watertown is, so far, the 6th driest on record for the month. We're entering that important time of year with harvest season. While rain would be welcome for those who want it, it would also slow down others who have started harvesting.
