KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Officials with the City of Kenner have announced that residents impacted by Hurricane Francine can now apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration. Francine made landfall in Terrebonne Parish as a category 2 hurricane on Sept. 11, leaving behind storm damage, flooding and power outages across Southeast Louisiana. Porch collapses at New Orleans bar during Saints game Federal assistance for Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes became available on Sept. 17, after a major disaster declaration was issued. The City of Kenner reported that more than 500 homes flooded due to the hurricane. On Monday, Sept. 23, Kenner leaders announced that residents in the city who suffered loss after Francine can now apply for individual and small business assistance through FEMA and the SBA.
