MONROE, N.C. – Police have identified a 15-year-old suspect for making threats of violence against students and teachers of Monroe High School, according to a news release. The release states that on September 23, Monroe Police received and executed a search warrant for a suspect’s residence after an investigation into threats made on September 22. Officers say they will be charging the 15-year-old through the Department of Juvenile Justice. Police increased patrols at Monroe High School, who has two permanent school resource officers. The Monroe Police say those responsible for any threats against schools will be criminally charged after a spike of threats of violence against schools across the country.
