AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Repairs to a water main break off TX-360 Loop will take around 24-48 hours to complete, a City of Austin spokesperson told KXAN Monday in a statement. "A 48-inch water main pipeline was struck by a contractor this morning in the area near Spicewood Springs Road and Loop 360," a city spokesperson told KXAN. Shortly before 10 a.m., the city Transportation and Public Works department said on social media the water main break closed down all lanes and was impacting morning commuters. Crews with Austin Water shut off the water around 10:45 a.m. "to stop the water loss," the city said. Video courtesy: Loren McEllin The department shared a photo showing water spewing into the air. Austin Water is coordinating with the management company to provide bottled water to this location," the city spokesperson said. Around 5,000 customers near the repair could experience low water pressure as crews work on those repairs, the city said. "Austin Water is monitoring conditions closely and have notified those customers," the city spokesperson said.
