2 Bay Area cities ranked best for women: study

(KRON) – Two Bay Area cities are ranked the best cities for women by Wallet Hub. One of the pair has already been named the happiest city – Fremont, which ranked in second place. San Francisco is the fifth-best city for women.
With only 6% of women living in poverty, Fremont is seemingly a great place for women financially. The women of Fremont also have the 15th-highest median yearly wages after adjusting for the cost of living, at $46,986, per the study.

As far as health, only 2.5% of Fremont women don’t have health insurance, which according to the study, is the fourth lowest female uninsured rate. The East Bay city also has the ninth-highest life expectancy at birth for women as well.
The fifth best city for women is the City by the Bay. San Francisco is highly ranked due to its women’s health care and safety rank.
SF was listed as the second highest for women's life expectancy at birth, following San Jose, which overall is listed in 17th place.
Oakland ranked 15th best city for women.
Methodology
WalletHub compared 182 cities – including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state - across two key dimensions, “Women’s Economic & Social Well-Being” and “Women’s Health Care & Safety.” Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for women.
