WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The City of Wichita will host a meeting on Monday for those interested in operating the winter shelter at 1025 N. Main, the former Park Elementary School building. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Those interested may RSVP to [email protected] or call 316-462-3724 to request a link to the virtual meeting. The City has allocated $600,000 for the 2024-2025 winter shelter. Applications to operate the shelter will be accepted until 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4. During the contract period, the shelter must be able to operate 24/7, allow entry day or night and serve both men and women, those with disabilities and those with other various needs.
