Milling operations taking place on Route 141 in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Milling operations will begin on Easthampton Road (Route 141) on Monday.

According to the City of Holyoke, milling is when crews remove a top portion of the pavement to prepare for repaving.
Several detours are planned this week due to the milling operations, such as the following:
Monday, September 23 - Westbound traffic (from Easthampton to Holyoke) will be detoured to Clark Street to East Street, and from that point will follow the detour used when Mountain Road is closed during inclement weather. Eastbound traffic (from Holyoke to Easthampton) will be detoured to Southampton Road, County Road, Line Road to Park Street where drivers will access the center of Easthampton.
Tuesday, September 24 - Westbound traffic (from Easthampton to Holyoke) will be detoured to East Street, and from that point, the detour used when closing Mountain Road during inclement weather. Eastbound traffic (from Holyoke to Easthampton) will be detoured to Southampton Road, County Road, Line Road to Park Street where drivers will access the center of Easthampton.
Wednesday, September 25 - Westbound traffic (from Easthampton to Holyoke) will be detoured to East Street and follow the detour used for closing Mountain Road during inclement weather. Eastbound traffic (from Holyoke to Easthampton) - no detour.
Thursday, September 26 - Westbound traffic (from Easthampton to Holyoke) will be detoured to East Street and follow the detour used for closing Mountain Road during inclement weather. Eastbound traffic (from Holyoke to Easthampton) - no detour.
Local traffic will still be allowed through, although there may be some minor delays.
