Here are the IE Varsity high school football rankings heading into Week 5. IE VARSITY’S HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RANKINGS 1. Centennial (3-2) The Huskies have averaged 56 points per game during their three-game win streak. Previous ranking: 1 Up next: Oct. 3 at Roosevelt 2. Murrieta Valley (3-1) The Nighthawks wrap up their nonleague schedule against an Orange County power. Previous ranking: 2 Up next: Friday vs. San Clemente 3. Chaparral (4-0) The Pumas head to Orange County this week to take on one of the state’s top teams. Previous ranking: 3 Up next: Friday at Mission Viejo 4. Rancho Cucamonga (3-2) The Cougars knocked off Bishop Amat to extend their winning streak to three games. Previous ranking: 7 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Upland 5. Vista Murrieta (4-1) The Broncos take their bye week and then prepare for Big West Conference opener. Previous ranking: 6 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Chaparral 6. Damien (3-2) The Spartans dropped their second consecutive game, a 49-21 setback to JSerra. Previous ranking: 5 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Etiwanda 7. Beaumont (4-1) The Cougars have a second bye and then will host big Citrus Belt League opener. Previous ranking: 9 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Cajon 8. San Jacinto (2-3, two losses by forfeit) The Tigers turned in a solid all-around performance in a 28-8 victory over Cajon. Previous ranking: 10 Up next: Friday at Jurupa Hills 9. Cajon (3-1) The Cowboys played shorthanded on offense in last week’s loss at San Jacinto. Previous ranking: 4 Up next: Friday at Orange Vista 10. Upland (2-3) The Highlanders have lost three consecutive games by a combined 14 points. Previous ranking: 8 Up next: Oct. 4 at Rancho Cucamonga 11. Aquinas (2-2) The Falcons won “Holy War” rivalry with Norte Dame for seventh straight time. Previous ranking: 11 Up next: Friday vs. Xavier Prep 12. Bonita (5-0) The Bearcats outscored the opposition 205-48 across five nonleague contests. Previous ranking: 12 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Glendora at Citrus College 13. Norco (2-3) The Cougars wrapped up their nonleague schedule with two straight victories. Previous ranking: 13 Up next: Oct. 3 at Murrieta Valley 14. Etiwanda (2-2-1) The Eagles played Bishop Diego to a 28-28 stalemate in last week’s game. Previous ranking: 14 Up next: Oct. 4 at Damien 15. Orange Vista (1-3) The Coyotes return from a bye week looking to avoid four-game losing skid. Previous ranking: 16 Up next: Friday vs. Cajon 16. Chino Hills (3-2) The Huskies put up a fight but came up short in 35-28 loss to San Clemente. Previous ranking: 19 Up next: Oct. 4 vs. Ayala 17. King (4-1) The Wolves take the week off before opening up Big West Conference play. Previous ranking: 18 Up next: Oct. 3 at Santiago 18. Norte Vista (5-0) The Braves held off Granite Hills to finish unbeaten in their nonleague games.
