MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man accused of firing shots inside an apartment complex downtown on Friday was released from jail the next day on a $65,000 bond. Brandon Sims, 33, is charged with aggravated assault and vandalism less than $1,000. ORIGINAL STORY: MPD: Man shoots into victim’s apartment after argument Brandon Sims (SCSO) According to police, just before 8:15 p.m., officers responded to 266 Lofts apartments at 266 South Front Street regarding a shots fired call. A male victim stated that he was standing outside the residence when someone started shooting. That is when he went inside and additional shots were then fired through the front window of the building. Three injured after shootings in South Memphis Several witnesses at the scene at the pool area described the shooting suspect to police. After a short time, a man identified as Brandon Sims was located fitting the description. Officers say Sims had a black handgun on him. He was then taken into custody. Four spent cartridge casings were found at the scene. Damage to the window was estimated to be worth less than $1,000. Brandon Sims is due back in court on Tuesday morning.
