KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A woman died Sunday evening and four other people were hurt when an SUV rear-ended a horse drawn buggy in northwest Kosciusko County. The crash took place just before 8:30 p.m. on State Road 19 in Scott Township. according to a press release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office. The preliminary investigation determined that the buggy, with a family from Nappanee, was heading south on State Road 19 when it was hit from behind by a Ford Flex driven by Matthew Jourdan, 44, of Warsaw. The impact sent the buggy off the west side of the road. Jourdan was not hurt in the crash, however all five occupants of the buggy, who ranged in ages from seven to 81, were hurt. Three of the five were taken to a hospital for treatment. One of the three, Irene Kuhns, 76, was later pronounced dead at an Elkhart hospital.
