LEXINGTON CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Lexington Police have arrested a man in a barricaded standoff on Sunday.
According to Chief Terrence Green, officers responded to a call involving the kidnapping of a female at the 100 block of Palm Court.
Police say they later learned that Keith Dwayne Miles, 57, of Lexington, held her against her will for several hours and was assaulted but managed to escape.
According to officers, at approximately 7 p.m., they attempted to contact Miles but was uncooperative.
Officers say it caused nearby residents to shelter in place.
After negotiations failed, police say the Emergency Services Team was able to take Miles into custody without incident.
He was then taken to the Lexington Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.
Police have charged him with assault and battery, high and aggravated and kidnapping.
Upon his release from the hospital, he will be taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await bond court in the morning.
