Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests juvenile for making threats to school

On Sept. 22 at approximately 8 a.m. Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch received a call reference an Instagram post. A patrol deputy responded to the reporting party and viewed a “screen shot” of the post saying, “School shooting October 10th Eagle Valley Middle School” with 2 gun emojis following the post. The account had on it, “I like to do shootings every single year” with a gun emoji.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer’s (SRO’s) were called in to investigate the posting. A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested for “Terroristic Threats” and was booked into the Carson City Juvenile Detention Center.
CCSO would like to thank the members of the community for reporting the incident. The Carson City School District and CCSO Investigations Bureau also assisted in the apprehension of the juvenile.
CCSO would also like to remind the community that threats toward the schools will be taken very seriously and immediate action will be taken.
There is no current threats/safety concerns for the school.
