BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The LSU Tigers and South Alabama Jaguars are scheduled to meet in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28. Linebacker Harold Perkins will not be playing in the game. LSU head coach Brian Kelly confirmed that Perkins "will be lost for the season with a significant knee injury." He said that it "looks to be an ACL injury." The time and place for his surgery is not known yet.  The Tigers are coming off a win at home against UCLA. LSU defeated the Bruins, 34-17, on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Tiger Stadium. Kelly talked about the good and bad in that game at a Monday news conference. He did not like the mental mistakes on the defensive side of the ball. Kelly said the defense did battle and held UCLA to 64 total yards in the second half of the game.  The Tigers were led by quarterback Garrett Nussmeier who passed for 352 yards and three touchdowns. That performance led to the LSU quarterback being named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. As a team, LSU ran for 102 yards while holding UCLA to 14 yards on the ground. The Tigers are 3-1 this season while their upcoming opponent is 2-2. South Alabama comes into the game against LSU on a two-game winning streak. The Jaguars have scored a combined 135 points in their last two games. They are led by head coach Major Applewhite who went to Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. Kelly said South Alabama is "a team coming in with nothing to lose but certainly a team that is very capable in a lot of areas." South Alabama has rushed for almost 950 yards through four games.
