FORECAST DISCUSSION:
We saw some much needed rain yesterday and last night. Now we are feeling much cooler temperatures across central Ohio. Conditions will stay fairly seasonable, and more rain showers are on their way soon.
Thanks to the cold front that moved though last night, it is noticeably cooler. Today temperatures are only expected to reach the low 80s. This is still a bit above average for this time of year. Skies are expected to stay mostly cloudy thought the rest of the afternoon and evening.
Tonight our next round of rain showers are expected to arrive in central Ohio. These showers will be on and off and will bring a rumble of thunder or two. Lows will only fall to the mid 60s and it will still feel muggy outside.
More rain showers will fall between tomorrow and Wednesday. There is a marginal risk for severe weather with isolated areas seeing strong wind gusts. Some areas of central Ohio may see another 0.25"-0.50" inches of rain.
There will be a few other opportunities for showers during the second half of the week by way of the tropics. Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, which expected to be named Helene soon, will try and bring additional rain showers on Friday. All of this rain will only put a minor dent into our precipitation deficits, but it is still more than welcomed.
