COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Ohio State's first Big Ten home game of 2024 now has a kickoff time. The No. 3 Buckeyes will continue conference play on Oct. 5 when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes. The game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Five of Ohio State's conference games will be played in Columbus and while the Buckeyes will be heavily-favored to beat Iowa, the Hawkeyes defense could cause some issues for the OSU offense. The Buckeyes are searching for a 1-0 start to Big Ten play on Saturday when they face Michigan State on the road. That game kicks off at 7 p.m. and be broadcast exclusively on Peacock. After starting this season with a 40-0 win over Illinois State, the Hawkeyes lost to rivals Iowa State in a thriller 20-19. Iowa has won its last two games 38-21 over Troy and 31-14 at Minnesota. It is on a bye this week before facing Ohio State. Since the turn of the millennium, Ohio State has lost just twice to Iowa in 10 meetings with its most recent defeat in 2017 in Iowa City. In Columbus, the Buckeyes have won seven straight over the Hawkeyes. The last home loss to Iowa for Ohio State came in 1991. The Big Ten standings will start to see shifts as conference play continues. Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, Penn State, and Rutgers are the six remaining Big Ten teams without a loss.
