OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Local pizza shop, Eastside Pizza House, is shutting its doors just two and a half years after opening. The owner said it wasn't an easy decision. While Jabee Williams, the owner of Eastside Pizza House, is sad to see an end to the shop, he's hopeful for the future. LOCAL NEWS: Mustang Lions Club working towards new projects "To serve this community has been has been amazing. You know, it's been so much fun and we've had so many cool things happening here," said Jabee Williams, owner of Eastside Pizza House. Williams said it was too hard to keep up over time. "We just got to the point to where we just weren't generating enough traffic to, you know, just keep it going, keep the lights on," said Williams. Eastside Pizza House could have looked a lot different. Williams said his first idea was to create a sushi concept or burger shop, but a connection to a high school job is what sealed the deal. "What I realized was, you know, the only food experience I had was when I was in high school; I worked at a pizza hut, and so I just did pizza," said Williams. Famous for their black pizza crust and unique concoctions, the doors to the shop may be closing, but the dreams are not.  Eastside Pizza House to close September 30 (KFOR) Eastside Pizza House to close September 30 (KFOR) "I look at it like everything we wanted to do, we did, you know, everything we said we would do, we did," said Williams. Now with one week left in business, Williams hopes it's a celebration to remember the memories made on 23rd Street. LOCAL NEWS: Cleveland Co. Williams said the dreams aren't ending yet and he's working on other plans to keep the brand going with catering or pop-up events. Eastside Pizza House will stay open until September 30.
